Halloween is only days away! If you remember the Halloween palette we chose for last year’s tabletop shoot, you know that welcoming dark accents was key. This year is just the opposite, as we take a sunny approach to the holiday and create a palette that you can enjoy throughout the fall. Plus, this cheery color combo is perfect for family-friendly gatherings, as your little ones will love the vibrant touches. Keep reading as we show you how to put together a modern Halloween party palette for all ages…

Vibrant Decor

Since blush has been one of the top color trends (hello, Millennial Pink) for the last few years, why not include a bit of pink on your tabletop? Not only is pink a delightfully unexpected touch for Halloween, it beautifully complements orange. Our palette of choice for this party: shades of orange, pink and yellow, with touches of black and green!

You can create a DIY garland using brightly colored paper, and if you have little ones, let them help! We added paper pumpkin faces to a store-bought garland. As you can see above, we also threw in some pineapples, because why not?! Below we see how an assortment of pumpkins and gourds in peach, orange and yellow create a party-perfect centerpiece:

Don’t be afraid to throw in some hot pink napkins for an extra pop of color! Our neon cocktail napkins were purchased from the Oh Happy Day Shop:

Floral arrangements are lovely at parties, but we kept it simple with one large sunflower in a glorious shade of orange. Sometimes less is more, especially when the “less” has tons of personality and is accompanied by a grouping of produce!

As for tablecloth and backdrop choices, don’t be afraid to get creative. We love the vibrant green and yellow hues shown above, but you definitely can’t go wrong with shades of pink and peach for this party.

Colorful Consumables

When it comes to party food, go for color! If your party will include children, have plenty of age-appropriate food and drink options. For the adults, you can keep it simple with small bites and fun beverages, but let your food double as decor and display it with pride! You can also add plenty of interesting touches. We used a mortar and pestle to grind up pink Nerds candies into small bits…

…and used them to line the rims of our coupe glasses (from CB2)! Not only are they a sweet and tangy complement to any drink, they add an unexpected dose of color.

For a spooky touch, we accented drinks with dried sweet/tart cherries on orange cocktail spears, an ode to Halloween:

While our mocktail was citrus based, you can serve up a range of delicious cocktails and concoctions in an equal range of colors. We love the mocktail and cocktail power of ginger beer, especially when it’s as festively packaged as this Llanllyr Source Ginger Beer. Hint: these bottles make amazing party favors as well!

Reserving some quiet time each day (or at least each week) is a great way to stay connected to our authentic selves, hopefully clearing our minds so we can stay focused on what really matters. A relaxing “getting ready for bed” ritual, a delicious breakfast by the window, or some cozy reading time at night in the candlelight can do wonders for the soul. Fall is here! ‘Tis the season for chill evenings outdoors, savoring the cooler weather with friends and family. No wonder this time of year inspires so many outdoor DIY projects! While having a custom fence or trellis built for your outdoor space may be the project of your dreams, there are times when an affordable or temporary solution is needed. Perhaps you’re renting and not able to make permanent changes to the property. Or maybe you’re needing to spend money on more pressing home repairs.

Believe it or not, there are many budget-friendly privacy screen options that will do the trick. There’s no need to put your backyard haven on the back burner! The key is finding a solution that matches your budget AND reflects the style you seek, as well as the durability that you need. h2>A Slatted Screen

Many design lovers who prefer a modern style naturally gravitate toward slatted screens featuring horizontal planks. If you’re feeling particularly handy, there are many online tutorials for building horizontal fence panels. If you’re not building an entire fence, the process can be a quick one. If you love the photo at the top of this post and are looking for a great tutorial on how to build a slatted wood privacy screen, head on over to City Farmhouse. If you aren’t inclined to install posts and do the building yourself, how about a less involved option?… For starters, IKEA has an APPLARO series that involves wall panels in various renditions (alone, attached to benches, etc.). Meg from Design.Wine.Dine used the panels to create an amazing patio garden:

If for any reason you aren’t able to attach the panels to the wall, consider anchoring them another way, such as inserting the posts into concrete-filled pots/planters. Speaking of panels in modern planters, this photo provides plenty of delicious design inspiration [via Pinterest]:

Powerful Planters

What just might be easier than building or assembling a modern trellis? How about planting something tall! A few modern planters and the right greenery can get the job done. Horsetail reeds are a good option if you have a moist climate that doesn’t get too frosty in the winter. They provide height and a contemporary feel:

These Low Galvanized Charcoal Planters from CB2 can be used to create a contemporary vibe. While tall cactus plants don’t come cheap, they definitely result in an amazing look and a thick barrier if planted close together. If cacti aren’t an option, consider tall native grasses.

Curtain Call

Below we see white curtain panels from Improvements, a company that also sells the Outdoor Curtain Rod with Post set to match! Freestanding rods and posts can be a good option if you want to avoid pouring concrete or securing the rods to the exterior of your home. However, keep in mind that you may need to find a way to ensure that the rod will not topple over in high winds (for example, weighing down the posts or placing them in sturdy umbrella pole holders).

Going Faux

Looking to add some greenery to the privacy screen of your choice? Don’t underestimate the power of faux plants. If you live in a climate where winters obliterate your outdoor greenery, this option might be a good one for you. They key is to stick with realistic-looking selections. Terracotta was one of this summer’s “it” colors, and it’s definitely got the staying power to capture our attention through the fall and beyond. Need proof that this hue is making waves? How about countless room makeovers (from our favorite design bloggers) featuring terracotta walls and decor?! When it comes to modern style, designers are always looking for ways to warm up a space, whether it’s through texture, earthy accents, or rich hues. No wonder terracotta was poised to make a big entrance! Not to mention, this orangey-reddish-rosy color isn’t a huge departure from the range of blush tones that have been in the spotlight for the last few years. Read on and discover just how versatile this appealing hue can be…

Beautifully Boho

Terracotta can complement many interior design styles, from the modern to the boho. There are so many amazing details in the bedroom below, you can’t take it all in at one glance! It’s not a cookie-cutter boho space, but there are plenty of features that channel a boho feel, from the pom poms and tassels to the potted plants. Can you spot all of the different terracotta tones?

From the boho to the modern, we now turn our focus to sleek, clean-lined products and rooms featuring terracotta. Even small details can add a modern touch, which is why we’re loving these Green Dots from CROWDYHOUSE. In fact, these pots always appear to be in motion, thanks to a semi-conical base. Some even feature a two-toned look for contrast:

Zara Home is currently featuring a line of terracotta bedding, and the product photography plays up the orange. Paper & Stitch Founding Editor/Art Director/Stylist Brittni Mehlhoff repainted the patterned half-wall in the upstairs portion of her studio. The result: a rusty shade of terracotta. Last week we forgot it’s autumn and hopped on a plane to sunny Italy for Cersaie 2018 in Bologna, the world’s largest exhibition for ceramic tiles, furniture, bathroom and kitchen pieces; as well as cutting-edge building systems.

Porcelanosa have put on a great show presenting their newest collection of signature bathroom faucets by famous designer Ramon Esteve. Dubbed LIGNAGE, the new collections is a trip into the future, inspired by the inheritance of the past.

See it all through our eyes and experience LIGNAGE in the video below.

Ramon Esteve’s vision for Noken’s signature taps was a journey through time. His savoir faire is a reinterpretation of the classic looks of taps with renewed aesthetic to further emphasize the legacy of the firm for the bathroom of the future. But the beauty of the LIGNAGE collection actually lies in its simplicity, uniqueness, and exquisiteness.

Single-lever, three-piece battery and a built-in three-piece battery are the formats available for the LIGNAGE collection. They all come in either chrome, gold gloss and brushed titanium — the last one being by far our favourite color. Last but not least we should tell you a little something about the handle on these faucets. They all got the Valencian architect’s special touch by being either smooth or with textured finishes that are reminiscent to the old times while contemporary at the same time.

LIGNAGE by Ramon Esteve: Interview

We got an exclusive interview with Ramon Esteve about the new LIGNAGE collection, so hopefully you’ll enjoy it as much as we did. (transcript below)

Alex Ion: Hello Ramon, congratulations on a beautiful new line of faucets for Noken. Can you tell us a few words about what defines Lignage.

Ramon Esteve: Thank you very much for the interview. Lignage is a collection of faucets that is based in the sensation of the past. The idea is to understand the present and to research in the past to get the future.

AI: And what are the things that inspired when you created this new line?

RE: I was inspired by the beginning of the faucets – around 19th century, the last years of the 19th century. I create this new line to reproduce the sensation of the textures, also the mechanisms of the pipes and all the things that you can touch, things that you give feelings – special feelings.

AI: The colors are truly exquisite, they are modern, they are classic. Which one is your favourite?

RE: I like the mass finishes, for me it’s the most trendy. For me it’s the option that has more relation with the design of the product. Also the bronze, and the gold is very elegant.

AI: Desaign is not only about form, it’s also about emotion – the intesity of the emotion. How do these design stand out for the bathroom of the future.

RE: I think the faucet is very modern but in the global concept of the bathroom. The bathroom now delimits from the rest of the spaces of the house, whereas it should be part of it and follow the same line of the house. And the faucet is a compliment of the bathroom.

AI: Last question I would say. How would you define, what was your experience to design faucets for Noken.

RE: This is very exciting, of course. But I have a very good relation – old relation – with Porcelanosa. With Noken is the first time that I design the faucets. But I started collaborating for the premium collection, the high end products, to create a complete atmosphere around the design, around the experience and the sensations. And this is part of it.
